We are fortunate to have many great nonprofit organizations in Westchester County that work tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for everyone.
Girls Inc. is one of those groups, and Advocate’s Denise Koslowsky recently attended the organization’s “Power of the Purse” evening, which celebrated girl empowerment and showcased the next generation of up-and-coming female leaders.
Denise was a guest of Chubb Insurance, one of the sponsors of the event. Jody Rollins, Senior Vice President and Regional Branch Manager of Chubb’s Westchester branch was a speaker. She is an amazing role model for the girls of Girls Inc., many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Kathy Tierney, COO of Chubb Personal Insurance Worldwide, Suzanne Witt, Marketing Development Manager and Corporate Responsibility Officer at Chubb and Janece White, VP, Chubb Worldwide Signature Manager also attended.
The evening featured inspiring stories by girls whose lives were turned around when they joined Girls Inc. There was also a great auction of one-of-a-kind designer handbags with all the proceeds going to the organization.
Advocate Brokerage was founded by a woman and employs many women in managerial positions. So helping girls develop leadership skills and teaching them how to use their knowledge and strength to promote positive change in the Westchester community is important to our company.
There are roughly 66,000 girls between the ages of 9 and 18 living in Westchester County. Some of them are living in poverty and desperately need an organization like Girls Inc. to help them.
We need to make sure that every one of these girls is given the resources to live their lives to the fullest. They are our future. That’s why we at Advocate Brokerage are proud to support Girls Inc.
