With twenty-two years in insurance and seven at Advocate Brokerage, Personal Lines Manager JoAnn Binelli still marvels at the Scarsdale agency’s devotion to client needs, a value that remains unchanged since Roz Binday founded Advocate forty-four years ago.“The principals (including Roz) are on staff and they truly do care about the clients and the level of service,” says JoAnn, a resident of Yonkers and a Notary Public, with insurance licenses in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.“It’s pretty unusual,” JoAnn adds. But then again, “We do get many unusual situations.”Superstorm Sandy was one of those, where with computers and phone lines down, she and other Advocate staffers came to work with their own cell phones and laptops to handle client claims.“It was very challenging, JoAnn said. “At the end of the day, we were there for our clients.”
In another case, JoAnn worked on behalf of longtime clients who, through no fault of their own, had their homeowners policy canceled.“I really felt we needed to go the extra mile for the client and intercede,” she says. Advocate brought the issue to the attention of the insurance company and urged it to take another look.
“The carrier agreed with us that it was something that needed to be reviewed,” JoAnn says, “and they renewed the policy.”JoAnn oversees the daily operations of Advocate Brokerage’s Personal Lines Department, which is staffed by professionals with the insight and experience to get the job done for clients.“I really enjoy working with them to achieve their goals,” JoAnn says. “They know just how dedicated we are to our clients.”
