Forget the man cave, I’ll take one of these: The most expensive cars to insure

Last week’s blog was a very practical list of the least expensive 2015 model cars to insure according to Insure.com.  This week’s blog of the most expensive cars to insure may not be as sensible but it sure will be fun! These cars have power, they are expensive and they are fun to drive!  There are 4 convertibles, 4 luxury sedans, a sports car and a wagon on the list.

Why they are expensive to insure

The article (which you can find here http://www.insure.com/car-insurance/insurance-rates-by-car.html) lists a few factors that helped these vehicles make the annual list, they are:

• They are fast.  All boast over 200 horsepower.
• They come with hefty price tags.  Most are around the $100,000 range with 2 falling below that mark and 2 priced above $200,000.
• They are more costly to repair.  With makers like Mercedes Benz, Porche & BMW, parts are harder to come by and repairs are expensive.  Additionally these cars are built for speed and made up of items such as carbon and fiber.
• They appeal to men.  These cars have power and speed going for them which in general appeal to males which typically have higher insurance rates.
